The JV boys basketball team cruised to a 59-27 victory Tuesday night against Wayland High School. The win pushed their record to 8-2 overall and a 3-0 start in conference play. Within the first few minutes the boys settled in and took control of the game. Spurred by pressure defense, the sailors grabbed a 13-7 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Often turning defense into instant offense, the sailors were able to score in bunches and hold Wayland from mounting any sort of comeback. The scoring for the sailors was spread around in a true team effort and Ethan Smith led the way with 13 points in the contest. Sailors are back at home once again Friday night to take on Union High School, 5:30pm.
