The short-handed sailors showed a lot of grit going on the road with 9 active players on the roster and pulling out a 56-39 win against Forest Hills Central Thursday evening. The sailors used great energy and turned in their best overall defensive performance of the season to grind out the win. The sailors were able to stifle the ranger offense and stretch out long possessions with hard work and communication. The sailors jumped out to a 10-0 lead behind a quick 7 points from Tyler Krosschell. The rangers battled back and kept things close throughout the first half. Houston Wildeboer hit a big corner three and had a steal for a breakaway lay-up to stretch the lead, and the sailors defense took it from there. In a balanced scoring attack once again, the sailors were led by Tyler Krosschell with 14 points, and Ethan Smith scored 12. Sailors are back in action next Tuesday at home against West Catholic in the middle game of a classic triple header for the boys.
